The Bureau will administer and enforce, with accuracy and integrity, the highest quality of tax collection while serving the public, abiding by state and local laws, and promoting awareness of local tax laws withhin the community it serves.

LOCAL EARNED INCOME TAX LAW CHANGE

 EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2012

Act 32 of 2008, which became effective Jan 1, 2012 reformed the local earned income tax withholding system and established countywide tax collection districts for the remittance and distribution of local earned income taxes. 

Every business that employs individuals at worksites within Pennsylvania, or employs individuals who work from their home in Pennsylvania, is required to withhold the applicable local earned income tax amount from employees' wages and remit the tax to the appropriate tax office.

The Blair County Tax Collection Bureau is the designated collector for the Blair County Taxing District.
